A specific portrait of the reader this firm was built for. If you recognise yourself, we should probably talk. If you don't, that is useful too.
The portrait
Most of my clients spent thirty or forty years earning what they now want to protect. They
are business owners, former executives, and professionals who reached the point where the
game changed. The goal is no longer to build more, it is to not lose what is already
there. Most were introduced to me by someone they trust. Most are approaching retirement
or already in it. None of them are trying to get rich.
What we usually have in common
You've probably arrived at the right page if…
01
You've built your wealth. You want to keep what you've built and make sure it keeps serving you.
02
You want a portfolio that responds to markets, not one left to their whims.
03
You want to work directly with the person managing your money, not through layers of a large firm.
04
You read carefully. You ask real questions. You take your time.
When I'm probably not the right fit
You might be better served elsewhere if…
01
You want a passive index portfolio, matched to a benchmark and left alone.
02
You want to direct the trades in your account yourself.
03
You want product recommendations paid for by commission.
A practical filter
Minimums & the qualified client rule
This firm is for qualified clients. Under SEC Rule 205-3 and the state rules that
apply to this firm, a qualified client is generally an investor with at least $1.4
million managed by the firm immediately after signing the agreement, or a net worth
above $2.7 million, alone or with a spouse (excluding a primary residence). Those
thresholds took effect June 29, 2026, and are adjusted for inflation about every five
years. The reason the rule exists is that the firm's fee is a performance fee, and
performance fees are permitted only for clients who meet that bar.
The account minimum is $1.4 million. I can reduce or waive it case by case, but every
client still has to meet the qualified client standard.
If you are not already in that range, I am probably not the right fit for you right now,
and I will say so directly.
If any of the right-hand list describes you better, there are firms that fit that better
than I do, and I will say so directly. If the left-hand list is you, the next step is a
short call.
